The Brown County Log Cabin Tour, sponsored by Brown County Chapter of Psi Iota Xi Sorority (Psi Otes), is a self-guided driving tour of log cabins and homes in the country along the beautiful back roads. Proceeds go to benefit Brown County literacy, art, music, speech and hearing, and college scholarships.

This year’s tour features five homes along Brown County’s picturesque back roads and byways. Each year, the route and guest home is different. Visitors should allow at least three to four hours for all of the homes. The route totals around 30 miles of driving and reaches across many areas of Brown County. Signs are posted along the way and a map is provided.

The cabins will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. They close promptly at 4 p.m. each day .The tour can be done all in one day or by splitting the route up and do two or three houses each day. The map is available on the website <www.logcabintour.com> and visitors can read about each home by clicking on the “Current Tour” link.

Whether you are a long-time Brown County resident or a visitor you can relax and enjoy the beauty of the hills and the warmth and friendliness of volunteers and home owners waiting to share a little bit of Brown County.

12th Annual
Brown County
Studio and Garden Tour

June 25–27, 2010

12th Annual Brown County Studio and Garden Tour

The 12th Annual Brown County Studio and Garden Tour is a great opportunity for visitors to capture the area’s creative spirit and its sense of community. The studios are situated along winding roads, on towering hilltops, and in lush hollows. At each stop demonstrations will provide a glimpse into the lives of the artists. Many of the studios’ grounds also boast attractive gardens.

Map brochures pinpointing each studio’s location are available at many area businesses and the Visitors Center in Nashville. They can also be accessed through the group’s website <www.browncountystudiotour.com>.

Some studios are hosting guest artists as well as displaying their proprietors’ creations.

Visitors will find a passport entry form on their brochure this year. By having it stamped at each studio on the tour, guests will be entered into a drawing for artwork pieces provided by tour members.

Some studios will have unique promotions for collecting contributions to an arts scholarship fund managed through the Brown County Community Foundation. Scholarship recipients are high school seniors embarking on arts-oriented higher education.

On Friday and Saturday, the tour runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday, the hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
